Function: TGF beta 1 (TGFB1) is a protein performing many fiunctions including control of proliferation and differentiation, and regulates the actions of many other growth factors. It is a potent stimulator of osteoblastic bone formation. Inactive TGFB1 is a homodimer consisting of a TGFB1 which is non-covalently linked to a latency-associated peptide (LAP), and the active form of TGFB1 is a homodimer of mature TGFB1 protein. |
